GOOD’S, THE RIGHT WAY TO LOOK AT THINGS
That’s GOOD'S philosophy. To look for the hidden nature of things to show to those who can appreciate.
HISTORY
GOOD'S was born in Naples, a thousand-year-old city whose history is presented as a microcosm formed by different civilizations that have left traces in its immense historical, artistic and cultural heritage.
The creator of the project is Piero Buono, with a long experience in the field of eyewear, coming from a family that has been working in optics fields for three generations. Co-founders are the architect Francesco Maria Stazio, creative director, who draws inspiration from the world of architecture and archeology in which he trained professionally, and Walter William Engle, the young soul of the project, with a degree in business administration, which is entrusted with the digital development of the brand.
SOUL
GOOD'S was inspired by this idea: to bring the soul to the surface, to give it an aesthetic value and not just a functional one, creating a new shape, dedicated to Naples.In the first collection, there 3 architectural references from 3 churches: the alternating ashlars of the portal of San Gregorio Armeno, the diamond-pointed ashlars of the facade of the Gesù Nuovo church and the fluted pilasters of the Certosa di San Martino.
From the passionate study of the history of art, a unique collection of glasses was born, in a limited edition, produced with precious craftsmanship, exclusively made in Italy. 90 pieces for each color - just like the numbers of the Neapolitan “Smorfia” – written on the temples.
GOOD'S eyewear is a precious artifact, full of passion and craftsmanship, as elegant as the Neapolitan style can be.
SUSTAINABILITY
GOOD'S is a company attentive to respect of the environment and has chosen to designing and manufacturing all the product in Italy. The choice of materials has an highly sustainable soul: the frames are made of Mazzucchelli M49 bio acetate, 100% recyclable and biodegradable, without chemical agglomerates to avoid allergic reactions. GOOD'S cases, made in vegetable eco-leather derived from corn, are produced by the historic company Gatto Astucci. The information sheets are on Arena Fedrigoni natural papers of pure ECF cellulose, FSC certified.
Nothing is left to chance, every detail is the result of research and in line with our philosophy and in fact even the wooden displays were made with the scraps of deck boards - donated by the A.Re.N. Neapolitan Restorers Association - used for the restoration of Neapolitan churches. The real contribution to sustainability, in addition to the use of eco-friendly materials, is given by the creation of a valuable product destined to last over time and perhaps to be handed down from father to son.
